I cannot understand why kaspersky have higher reputation comparing to avast
I used avast free sence 41418 and nerver never got a virus infection which avast was unable to clean
So, before ais , i bought kpure
As i have some kpure days license remaining, i have make a test
I download a INFECTED file.So what? no kpure reaction and a imediate avast reaction
So, just as curiosity, why kaspersky have higher reputation than us?

NO antivirsu is perfect. I can find malware that KAV misses and Avast finds. I can also find malware that KAV misses and Norton finds. Then I can find malware that Norton misses and Avast finds. Your point is?
-
My point is : in brazilian sites avat reputation is ridiculous, they inform "avast catches nothing"and kaspersky catches everything
I think this should be a paid false info in order to make many people buy kaspersky
I cannot believe many people can be so inoccent
-
they buy it because they believe it(not made to buy it),like the saying goes dont believe everything you hear or in this case read.
-
Paid false info is part of business. An ugly, nasty part of it, but a reality all the same.
At the end of the day, the better product will speak for itself through actions, not words.
-
AV Comparatives test for false positives showed Kaspersky 46 false positives. Avast had 9 false positives. So yes, they detect more. :)
-

Just to make it clear, i am saying i am sure avast is beter than kasp
-
see the whole product dynamic test on av-comparatives. you will see which one has a higher detection rate.
on the other hand, just one malware is enough to ruin your day.
-

<subtle irony>
Is that the reason VHS won against BetaMax, Windows 3.0 against OS/2, IE 4 against NetScape Navigator? ;D
</subtle irony>

Ok maybe that was a little too altruistic of me, point taken ;)
Still, I don't think that is how this (Avast vs. Kasper) would play out. I see no end to either company in the near future, really. Plenty of room for both.

The naked truth ;D

many people never know of Avast because you cannot find it in retail.
some people think Norton is the best because it is everywhere...but the AV is only a small part of the Norton world.
I would rather it be "my little secret" than incur the costs of a boxed product.

Vecchio, we can't believe in paid reviews, paid reputation scores...
Take into account that avast is on #1 in Brazil, i.e., the market share is in favor of avast.

Take it from someone who have used both, both are excellent products. Each have its pro and cons. Herer is what I think Kaspersky excel;
a) Their heuristics. (Maybe your pure miss stuff because you didn't set heuristics to high. For any product I used, I always set the heuristics to high)
b) Their clean ability (not to say avast is bad, but I haven't tried the cleaning of avast. I have installed KIS on a heavily infected computer, it was able to install, update and clean without problem)
c)Kaspersky cloud is better than avast at the moment but this is the first time avast have cloud, so wait for it to improve. ;D
d) Kaspersky have excellent self defense (based off malware research group. For two years in a row,(I think), it have receive the platinum award-the highest award)
Why I used avast?
1. Tried and tested. Was bought over by the detection rate. Tested some viruses bought back from school and saw Kaspersky and avast both detect the same thing.
2. avast have less bugs. (main reason why I switch)
3. Light on resources
4. It is free and very good
5. Fast (4.8 scan speed was like a snail. Now it is like a Ferrari ;D)
6. I like what avast is doing. (their ideas, their generosity)
I would like to used the paid avast if I can see a box avast for sale in stores in my country. All I see are Kaspersky, Norton, Trendmicro, Avira. Yet to see a box version for sale.

I have installed Kaspersky in infected pc. It just delete important system files and makes the system handicapped. It gives only one option to user after a restart do a clean install of windows. I think this is the way it clean virus in a pre-infected pc, if it clean then it takes ages to clean a single file and several restart. I am talking about both Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 and Kaspersky Internet Security 2012(In which they say they have improved alot) ;D ;D
But if its installed on a clean pc then it never allow a single virus to enter.

I will repeat after (again have my post deleted without any reason
Kaapersky is a resource hog

If I remember rightly, probably because your post just contained a direct full quote of LunarWolf post and no comments or reason why you would quote in full.
Even so there really is no need to quote in full, just quote any relevant part not the full post that you are going to comment on.
-
LunarWolf, thanks for sharing. Good thoughts about Kaspersky.

Is Avast! newer or is it older than kapersky?
