Title: avast hanging on computer shutdown?
Post by: g3b on March 30, 2011, 12:43:22 AM
Hello, finally found a firewall that seems to work okay with avast free 6.1044 except for one thing, since reinstalling avast (via clean install).  When I attempt to shut down the computer it hangs at the windows shutting down screen...after 5 min. I just do a hard boot.  Am using the latest version of Privatefirewall 7.02.3.4.  I don't believe it is caused by the firewall because I was using microsoft essentials ver 2 without any issues, then I uninstalled it using Revo uninstaller & installed Avast 6.1044 & it started hanging on shutdown.

Any ideas, thanks for your help in advance.
