Title: What is za-avast ?
Post by: Geraide on March 31, 2011, 11:16:56 PM
A security programme is available from my bank.  However, when installing, I get a message that Zone Alarm and Avast are not compatible for this programme.
Zone Alarm is not installed on my computer.  I checked the installed programmes etc. and have no mention.  Is it possible that Avast has somme elements of Zone Alarm installed on version 6 of Free Avast ?
Zone Alarm was installed on my computer several months ago but has been flushed.
Thank you for your assistance.

you could try this tool http://www.appremover.com/  .   let it scan for security apps on you computer and if it detects traces of zonealarm, it can help clean them up

What that means is that ZA left behind some traces.

Download there removal tool.

http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/free/support/cpes_clean.exe

Better off using the official ZA Uninstaller.

Better off using the official ZA Uninstaller.
Agree.  With any security program, you always want to run the vendor's uninstaller tool or you could have conflicts due to remnants with other security programs currently or in the future.

Remember after running the ZA uninstaller to reboot your machine.

Let us know if this resolves your issues.  Thank you.
