Which operating system do you use?
-
I'm still using XP Pro until MS stop supporting XP at 2014 and by that time the OS might be W9 or W10, I prefer to hand on to XP as long as you can until MS say they will stop supporting it sooner or until 2014.

7, XP, Linux, FreeBSD... (cannot vote with only one option available, this poll needs fixing for nerds like me :P)

Similar problem here. ;) (XP/7/Linux - even an old W95)
But I'll vote for XP, as it's the one in my sig.

Same here. But I use win 7 too much, so voted for that. XP goes for testing etc. Linux for malware related stuff ;)

Windows 7 and XP Pro.
The XP Pro system is so slow compared to my Windows 7 system. :'(
-
Windows 7 64 bit desktop, windows 7 32 bit on 2 laptops.
-
Windows 7 64 and loving it :)
-
Windows 7 32bit actually.
I also have Win ME in another computer but is broken.
-
Not really a fan of Polls, but many people have more than one OS and this only gives the opportunity to vote for one.
-
Do you have any particular interest on opening this poll?

Windows 7x64 SP1...it's a state law in Texas!

Windows 7 and XP Pro.
The XP Pro system is so slow compared to my Windows 7 system. :'(
Of course it is, but put XP on the machine that now has 7 and see how much faster everything is.

The upgrade advisor has nothing to do with it. Of course it will tell you to run 7 because you can. XP will run faster than Windows 7 on any computer. It's just a fact of life. When XP was the new thing, you could put 98SE on a machine that came with XP and it would blaze. It's just a matter of the better hardware in the newer machine. As computers get faster and more capable, programmers find ways to use all that extra power and leave you with a machine that really doesn't do things any faster than the older ones did with the simpler OS. If you would put XP Pro on that better machine, it would be faster than W7. I have no doubts whatsoever about it.

Windows 7 64 bit.
-
I heard that microsoft might be releasing a new Operating system in 2012 called "Windows 8" :P
-
Windows 7 32bit and Linux but voted for Win 7 as that is what I mainly use ;)
-
Windows Xp Home SP3 8)
-
Windows 7 64-bit :)
-
Windows 7 Home Premium x64 with Service Pack 1
-

I feel windows 8 would be another windows vista scenario. Requirements that are very high and a very buggy OS.
-
Windows 7 x64.
-
Windows 7 changed computer last year.
-
Windows XP till this machine dies a natural death.
A recent hard drive reformat, new modem, cleaning of the keyboard and tower case, and only just the programs I need on it, has my system running great. Since all I do is E-Mail, Web Browsing, and Word Processing, upgrading to Windows 7 would probably not have me doing new things. In short, this computer does everything that I need it to do, and for it's age (8 years) works just fine.
I have a relative who is a computer engineer and we will just start swapping out hardrives, OS updates and other upgrades when the time is needed to do that.

True and I was told the 2012 might come to an end before we might get a chance to drive the new OS :P

PS. Correction: System is 6.5 years old, not 8 as originally posted.

That Linux comment reminded me of a joke from years ago when Windows 98 was out:
"The box said, "Windows 98 or better, so I installed Linux!!!!" :D LOL!

I use XP-Home, XP-Pro, Vista...but my Sig. is for XP-Home.
-
Main system is Win 7 Pro x64 SP1.
Second PC and old laptop run Win XP Pro x86 SP3.
Occasionally I boot up a HD installed Ubuntu 10.10 x64.
On few occasions I use Live-CDs Knoppix, LinuxMint and PCLinuxOS.
-
Windows 7 + Ubuntu
Windows 7: everyday use like Web Browsing, Multimedia etc
Ubuntu: special works like Modify Locked files, Inspect folders which Windows deny access, access some networks, and finally scan windows for malware using my unix AntiVirus, recover data and other similar tasks.
-
Windows 7x64. Also, a big thank you to dual core processing.
-
I had a dual boot setup with Debian 6.0, and Windows 7, but, while reinstalling Debian to clean up some things I did to customize it, I forgot to set up the dual boot. So, I'm running Linux only until I get around to reinstalling Windows.
