Title: outlook 2007 plugin not working
Post by: rudolffischer on April 17, 2011, 09:18:42 PM
Hi
I have installed avast Pro 6 (latest version ) today. My operating system is XP Professional. When I launch outlook 2007, I get the avast plugin spalshscreen. However i do not get a warning about SSL protected mail accounts, like I do on my Win 7 / outlook 2010 PC. If I try to add the SSL accounts manually in the Web Shield configuration screen, I cannot do so. Avast refuses to add the account data entered and returns me to a blank SSL account input field. Interstingly the statistics screen in avast reports that it is scanning the emails, even though the account is SSL protected.
I this behaviour by design, or is there something amiss here?
Thanks and regards
Rudi

avast support SSL connection for 2007 Office but not in 2010 Office. See mail shield section of your avast antivirus..
and report back...

Looks like that's exactly the difference that caught my eye.
Glad everything is as it should
