Title: Bug Reports for v.6.0.1091 - Avast Internet Security
Post by: DraKuL on April 19, 2011, 10:37:51 AM
Updated Avast just now via GUI, LOVING the feature to let us remove social functions  :D  :D - Didnt mind the "like" sign but the twitter logo on notification popups was REALLY annoying..

Anyway there is a small problem (Which I dont mind at all, but reporting here since it is infact a problem ;D) When you click "like" avast and close the window that it opens, the Avast GUI freezes and I get the windows error message saying "Avast isnt responding, click to end process" - Yes this happens everytime I click "like" and close the windows that it opens.. but if I leave it for about 20seconds after closing it, it gets back to normal ( Still can see it freezing, the dark grey becomes lighter..)

Is anyone else experiencing this or is it only me ? Again, I dont mind this at all, just reporting since its a minor problem.. Please note that I'm using Avast Internet Security..

Had you rebooted and registered after install and still having the problem?  I'm sure you did, but need to ask.

It's good that you report such issues.  This is how Avast improves the product for future releases.  Thank you for reporting and keep up the good work.  ;)

Also the minor bug with the show last popup after a scan is cancelled (What Ashish Singh reported a few weeks ago) is still there.. Again a very minor issue   reporting for future improvement purposes.. ;)

I hope they note our point somewhere  ??? Otherwise its hard to track from the thread itself...  :-X

Ok I installed it on my virtual computer (Avast free), the issue is still there.. Am I the only one whose experiencing this?  ???

I'll check this evening - not at home ATM.

Maybe it's not a real bug - might be Avast awaiting a facebook connection that won't establish since you close the Window instead of clicking OK?

BTW: do you have a facebook account?

Yes I do have a facebook account, and it doesnt happen when I click the like button and open the window, it happens the moment I close it.. Doesnt matter how long I keep it on, it freezes after I close it.

Check if you have the same problem when you get home and let me know :)

Thanks!

Yeah, that's what I mean. You close the window without clicking OK in that window - so avast may be still waiting for some data flow to / from facebook which would be initiated normally when clicking on OK (and the window would close automatically).

I'll test it.

There's no OK button.. only close and the 'x' button on top right to close it..

You still have the screenshots? post them here and i will explain.. you only need to post 2 of them, the popup you get and the popup that you SHOULD get.. all the others that you posted that day were pretty much irrelevant to show that bug - no offence :)

Ah, I see... I haven't bothered looking at that stuff until now, but I'll check.

Thanks Ashish..  :)

I'll explain it here :)

The Problem occurs when you cancel a scan from the above popup. Then when you click 'Show last popup' it should show image#1 but it shows image#2
