Title: Avast! Internet Security: Its Firewall Does Not Start!
Post by: cypherinfo on April 22, 2011, 05:44:20 PM
I installed the Avast! Internet Security and after having inserted the license the only feature does not activate is the firewall. I tried more and more times to click on start and it did not work.

Mine is the versione: 5.0.396 I would like not to  upgrade to the 6 one.

Thank you.

Why won't you upgrade?
Indeed, old versions issues can't be followed anymore...

Please, upload (attach) the avast log: C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast5\Setup\setup.log
(or the shorter C:\Users\All Users\Alwil Software\Avast5\log\Setup.log).

If the file is too big for the forum, post the last 400-500 lines of it.

If your current license is still valid (has time left on the license) there is no cost to upgrade.

Absolutely - The ST:0x2000001C code = license banned, for that version of avast you using Pro/AIS and where did you get your registration key/License ? You will need to contact them.

Given that they didn't have the latest 5.0 or 5.1 version would imply a hacked application and license, which would be killed if they had the latest versions of 5.0, 5.1 or 6.0.

The question would be why they didn't even have the latest 5.0 update (over 8 months since Version 5.0.677 0n 2010-09-07), then I rather doubt they will be back.

yeah I thought from the beginning that the guy didn't want to upgrade because his cracked license wouldn't work anymore, was still funny to ask him why ;D

I'm of a suspicious nature, but I do try to give the benefit of doubt first ;D

I agree with David :)

Over the years I have seen quite some cracked licences on peoples pc's, and they didn't were aware of it because someone else installed it for them.
