Title: Avast & Thunderbird
Post by: puppis on October 08, 2004, 11:30:09 AM
??? I use Thuderbirdwith 4 different accounts. I configured Avast changing the avast.ini file as indicated and changed thunderbird account configuration to work with avast. Nou 3 account works correctly, but one of them cannot receive mail (sending is OK). When i try to get mail  I get a messagebox saying "Sending of username did not succeded. Mail server 127.0.0.1 responded: Unknown command: AUTH PLAIN".
Can anyone help me to solve this?

Check the settings of that account in TB. looks like you have authentication on while it needs to be off.

No, authentication is off.
I get the messagebox as soon as I press the get msg button for that account...

I am not using TB so I can't be of much help, but have you already had a look in their forums? http://forums.mozillazine.org/index.php?c=8 (http://forums.mozillazine.org/index.php?c=8)

May want to have a look there, till someone jumps in here. (Shouldn't take to long)

Don't seem to be a TB problem as I have three accounts working perfectly...

 :) It works now.
I just selected "View logfile" from the Enigmail menu (a TB plugin). A messagebox told me to restart TB. After that everithing is OK (maybe an Enigmail problem).
Thanks...
