Post by: Tgell on May 05, 2011, 01:23:39 PM
Does this look like the avast interface to you? Look at the sub-menus under Real-time monitors.

For me, their forum says it all...only 1 thread, with over 480 posts by the same person, all spam.

When you use the interface of two of the largest well known anti-virus and claim it as your own, it is hardly going to go unnoticed. I know for sure I wouldn't be using it if that is an indication of their business practices.

Yes the WebRep is an option, but then again it is only avast users that would see that ;D

For me, their forum says it all...only 1 thread, with over 480 posts by the same person, all spam.

I would say it's the ideal AV and support forum for an old banned friend of us ;D

( Sorry, I could't resist :-[ )

This is probably not even a real antivirus. Most likely some rogue/fake crap, like "antivirus gold", spyaxe, etc

This means nothing if they stolen the interface from avast/AVG.
Will you trust in a company with such policy? I won't for sure.

Unthreat is making themselfs look bad by not coming up with their own interface that doesn't look like any other antivirus's interface...

If there using Sunbelts engine, are they also using Sunbelts Definitions or their own because that doesn't make any sense if there using Sunbelts since they scored lower than Avast and Unthreat scored higher than both Avast! and Sunbelt.

Oh wow, I thought you were exaggerating but they copied the tabs completely, and the help and settings icons are in the same place. I think it's still different enough that a lawsuit couldn't be filed unfortunately.

Did they stole the engine from any other antivirus?
Or the virus definitions?
Why would they stop only stealing the interface?

What's the Avast Web Rep rating for this suspicious site?  I agree when you look at the pictures, they are ripping off Avast for sure.  Has anyone tested the downloaded file in the Avast sandbox or sent to the lab, to see how this program/site is analyzed?

Jack
