hey i am a new avast user. What i want to know is how to check the avast memory usage in the windows task manager ?
there are three columns there :-
1. working set
2. private working set
3. peak working set

all these are showing avast memory usage....i wanna know which is the actual one ? ???

They all are.   ;D  Windows uses a memory manager that gives a process more memory when needed, and gets it returned to the memory pool when not being used.  Private working set is the unsharable portion, working set is the amount currently being used, peak is the largest value used.

I generally monitor three if I open Task Manger for that purpose, though I'm generally unconcerned with the avast memory usage as it is comparatively light for avastSvc.exe and avastUI.exe the two avast entries.

1. working set
2. private working set
3. Commit Size

Personally I see no point in monitoring Peak anything as it is a necessary evil when avast scans memory usage will increase. So I don't monitor peak working set.
