Title: Feedback on the 6.0 version of the problem
Post by: xxhh011 on May 22, 2011, 12:24:19 AM
When I was in "real-time protection, " the sub-menu "File Protection"and"Expert Settings"set "write","read"in the"scan all files ", and restart the computer and found the system stuck. (remember the 5.0 version does not have this problem.)

My system is a simplified Chinese version of xp sp3. AVAST 6.. No other security software.

These questions make me very depressed, helpless in exchange for 4.8 version.

You shouldn't have changed any of that default settings... Why did you do?

In the old version 4.8 and 5.x there is no problem, but the new version of 6.x appeared.

The problem is the subject of my post.

I think avast is a good software, but this version from 6.0.1000.0 to 6.0.1125.0 the current version is still not resolved, I am helpless.

If avast is designed that way, then I have nothing to say!

I'm asking you WHY do you need to change ANY of default settings of File Shield?

I'm asking you WHY do you need to change ANY of default settings of File Shield?

Why change? This and the issues it? Avast have the selection since, it has use value, is not it?
Hardware configuration, my CPU is not less than Pentium 3,128 MB RAM, no less than to use more hard disk space.
These standards are listed below the official "minimum system requirements. "

If these additional features can not, then, avast why publish?

I cannot follow your English. Sorry.
If you're saying your system is not powerful and you're disabling some avast settings, well, you're changing the main protection of avast and decreasing very hard the protection level.

Does the same configuration in a computer, the same set 5.x and 6.x, why would 6.x stuck computer , but 5.x is okay?

This is avast in the forward or backward?

I think if you want more protection then you can tick the option of scan all files in "scan when writing" section.
but it will make avast keep scanning every file created or modified...That would give you maximum protection to you. I don't think ticking the scan all file option on opening is a good idea.....

But default setting is enough

Rest on you

Ashish

In the Chinese module, even this is not the official attention!

You shouldn't have changed any of that default settings... Why did you do?

WHY??? Why do you persist in saying this to users? The whole point of having these settings available is to provide users with options to meet their different needs.

What on earth would be the point of avast! spending all this time and effort creating an adaptable AV solution if they then insisted that settings must never be changed by users?

This sort of advice really is not creating a good impression on people that read these forums in the hope of finding help and is not a useful answer at all.

We say this to users because if they dont know what there doing they shouldnt play with the settings. The best settings for non advanced uses is the default settings is i think what Tech is trying to say, as the OP has now found out that playing with the default settings has brought his/her system to a halt,it is mentioned next to the scan all files box that by ticking this box can have a negative impact on your system performance. What the OP needs to do is untick the scan all files box or go to settings/trouble shooting and restore the defaults.

OP stands for original poster (yourself) not outpost firewall.
Please follow the instructions in post 18 about unticking the scan all files box or restoring defaults.
