Title: Avast internet security , 64-bit ?
Post by: Pindakaas on June 10, 2011, 04:27:13 PM
Do i have to install a special version of avast internet security if i have a 64-bit Windows 7 ?

Or is it ok to just download the avast internet security from the website like everybody else ?

And does Avast fully support 64 bit ?

I mean , does everything in Avast work in 64 bit ?

No avast is fine with 64bit OS, whilst not a native 64bit application it has the necessary drivers/settings to be used with 64bit OSes.

There is no different/separate version of avast for 64bit OSes, it is compatible with 64bit OSes as the system requirements (supported OSes) mentions.

So yes, you can install it without problems, really the only consideration would be the removal of any existing AV 'before' installing avast.

I run it with w7x64SP1; no differences with what I see with Vista x32.
