Hehe i simply love 4.5 version. I haven't found any bug except that small graphic glitch in skinless interface.

Although I don't usually mess around with beta programs I did try out the 4.5.494 build.  I like it so far!

I did make a mistake the other day.  I have automated update for new versions set to notify me.  I got a message that there was a new update and I clicked to install it.  After it installed I found that I could no longer get my mail, and Avast would hang.  There is an icon in the tray that shows when avast is checking mail and even after closing out of OE the icon stayed in the tray, only restarting the PC removed it.  Then I turned avast off and still couldn't get mail.

The only way I could get mail was to restore my PC with a image I made the other day.

So now I have a questions about updating from the beta version when it's no longer beta.  I assumed that the update yesterday was the new 4.5 but I guess it wasn't. I don't know what was in the last program update, but it sure did mess up the beta version.

a61, if you messed up anything in the beta version, try to repair your installation?
Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove programs > avast! antivirus > Remove
Then choose Repair function in the popup window (Repair).

Actual version is 4.5.497  ;)
Instructions to update here: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=11;action=display;threadid=8044;start=0

The email checking of avast changed completely from version 4.1 to 4.5.
Now it uses a new mail detection that will work automatically. Please, set up your email account just as avast does not exists. It will detect the pop3/smpt/imap ports and scan your messages.

Are there any news regarding this one:

Still can not force those providers to stay active after computer reboots... is there anyone out there who knows why is it happening ?

Thanks in advance !

Cheers!

Latest version is 4.5 498.

Alwil is releasing the new versions of the program spreaded over a week to lower the load on their servers.

You can right click the blue ball > updating > program update to get it though

Yep, 498... and best of all - All problems with avast! not-remembering-providers issue after reboot, solved after latest build update 4.5.498

Hurray !
