Since version 6.0.1203 it is not possible to run my system (XP) because avast! is continuously accessing my hard drives. With 6.0.1000 everything runs fine.
As it seems 6.0.1203 has massive problems with at least XP-systems that have certain programs running that do hard drive managing in any way.

I can confirm the Perfect Disk issue.

Confirming this on two XP SP3 systems running avast! 6.0.1203 (ond free, one professional) and PerfectDisk 11 (and 12).

Hi folks,
I suspect the problems with PerfectDisk and Acronis Disk Director are the same as those a number of us are facing with Retrospect 6.x / 7.x and Ghost 12 - I'd encourage those of you seeing this to try something like what I did, described here:
http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=81135.msg666107#msg666107
...to see if you can confirm what's going on - if it's one problem that's breaking all of these products, one hopes it will be more likely to catch the development team's attention...
PS - For the record, based on several tests I've done since I last wrote, I can confirm that this does *not* happen with Acronis True Image Home 2010, Paragon Partition Manager 9, Norton Partition Magic 8, or Piriform Defraggler.
