Title: Saving Configuration?
Post by: hergi on August 04, 2003, 03:21:20 PM
Hi there  :D

We are still using Avast32 v3 on our workstations in the company and would like to upgrade to v4.

We all need the same settings and configuration but I don´t want to change them on every computer.

Is it somehow possible to save the configuration of one WS and load it on the others?

Thanx for answer!

Starting with next update of avast! there is a feature "silent installation" in it.

It works like this:
- you will install avast! on single machine and fully configure it to meet your needs,
- you will choose "create silent installation" in enhanced user and selects folder of avast! installation files (probably some network share),
- some additional files will be created in selected folder,
- you can start avast! installation on other machines from selected location and it will be installed with your configuration.

Thanx for your answer. This sounds really interesting.

Unfortunately we are already in process of updating to v4. It´s not too bad, there are "only" about 10 workstations to be done.

But I´ll keep in mind for forthcoming installations.

So stay tuned because network edition should provide you with more more features  ;)

We are looking forward to the Network Edition for quite some time nos  ::)

When do you expect to release it? Will there be a German version at the beginning, too?
