Title: Search Results Alarms
Post by: QueenPendragon on July 29, 2011, 11:10:04 PM
Can a website's icon have a virus on it? I occasionally get an alert from Avast about preventing a crash while Googling something, and usually the problem site is one of the links in my search results, even though I never clicked it.

oh and while I'm at it, how do site previews work, the Firefox add on? Does it actually access the webpage to give the preview? Is it dangerous to use a lot of previews? (Avast hasn't warned me of any dangers so far)

I don't have one atm, I'll have to do it if it happens again. It's the red and yellow that says the web shield blocked something.

It was a while ago, so, yeah, restarted several(many) times. I'll just wait and pass it along next time it happens, if it happens again.

Sometimes I think it may be a hack (of the site) or something, I Googled one of the same queries this time (a group called Big Cat Rescue) and nothing popped up.
