Okay am having problems I need help as of yesterday after my Avast system updated I started to get these popups every 5 mintes or so saying malicious url blocked object 2woody77.com.tw

-
I NEED HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE WHERE ARE ALL THE EXPERTS AT. WONDERING IF I DELETE AVAST PROGRAM WILL MY ISSUES GO AWAY
-
I suggest:
1. Clean your temporary files.
2. Schedule a boot time scanning with avast with archive scanning turned on. If avast does not detect it, you can try DrWeb CureIT! (http://www.freedrweb.com/cureit/) instead.
3. Use Comodo Cleaning Essentials (CCE) (http://www.comodo.com/business-security/network-protection/cleaning_essentials.php), or MBAM (http://malwarebytes.org/mbam.php), or SUPERantispyware (http://www.superantispyware.com) to scan for spywares and trojans. If any infection is detected, it is better and safer to send the infected file(s) to quarantine (Chest), rather than simply deleting them.
4. Test your machine with anti-rootkit applications (http://www.antirootkit.com/software/index.htm). I suggest avast! antirootkit (http://files.avast.com/files/beta/aswar.exe) or Trend Micro RootkitBuster (http://www.trendmicro.com/download/rbuster.asp).
5. Read this instructions (http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.msg451454#msg451454) and provide more info with the logs generated.
6. Clean your Hosts file (replacing it) with HostsMan (http://www.abelhadigital.com) tool.
7. Disable System Restore and then reenable it again.
8. Immunize your system with SpywareBlaster (http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html).
9. Check if you have insecure applications with Secunia Software Inspector (http://secunia.com/software_inspector/).
If the infection avoids booting the computer, take a look here http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=79107.0

I'm getting the same issue just after an update. I updated and ran Avast full scan found nothing, updated and ran malwarebytes full scan found nothing, ran a Kaspersky TDSSKiller nothing.
I'm confused ???? should i be worried or is this just a glitch?
-
Please create your own new topic (so as not to hijack this one), here http://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=4.0 (http://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=4.0) in the viruses and worms forum and click the New topic button at the top of the page and we will try and help you there.
This does sound like a rootkit and possibly an MBR rootkit if TDSSKiller didn't find anything, but it is possible it could be other browser related hijacking, which will require other tools to find it.
-
why is this happening I thought by having avast I wouldnt have any major issues is there something wrong with avast.Am not Computer savy so I dont know how am going to solve this problem am so ready to just buy another laptop >:( :'(
-
why is this happening
See this through and you will find out.
I thought by having avast I wouldnt have any major issues
Then you were mistaken, no offense intended. All the AV companies play catch-up. Almost everything they do is a reaction to what the people who write malware do. Much like how the police can try to clean up the streets, but they have to wait till a crime is committed to take action. That not to say they cant stop most bad stuff that is out there, you still need a AV on any Windows pc, but sooner or later they are going to miss something for an unfortunate minority of users.
The first rule of possible infection is do not panic, and no offense, but you seem a little panic stricken. So 1st, relax. Then read Tech's instructions, the 5th one in particular. Avast! is still protecting you, the Network Shield alerts are most likely caused by an existing infection trying to download more infections or send out your personal data, and Avast! is stopping that. You definitely do not need to go buy a new laptop, no matter what is wrong. With a little of your patience and time, we have people here who will get you cleaned up and running again soon. ;)
-
Am annoyed thats the problem more then panicked I just dont feel like dealing with this s**t am not too computer savy on top of that so it just makes me more mad. I deleted avast from my computer thats how pissed I am >:(. Thanks Gargamel 360 imma try to solve this issue today.

Wasn't trying to hijack this thread DavidR. I have the same issue. most places you post the same issue in the same thread, not start a new thread per person. I only posted and replied to help myself and others.
donjuangirl here is how I fixed the 2woody77.com.tw from popping up. All software was overlooking or will not remove since the file became system protected. your going to have to do this manually.
First your going to go to control panel and open folder options, clk the view tab, tic show hidden files and folders under the hidden files and folders. clk apply close that out.
open my computer, clk c: clk users, clk the folder name of the profile you having this issue with here we are going to use wali, clk temp, In there you should see the file thpm157572159625012743.tmp this is the file you need to get rid of.
1st I deleted everything in my temp folder. that file would not delete somehow its protected. I used unlocker to delete the file did a reboot and no more attacks.
you can download unlocker below:
http://download.cnet.com/Unlocker/3000-2248_4-10493998.html
you might want to go back to your control panel in folder options and reverse showing hidden files and folders
-
essexboy enerything you told me to do worked thank you soooooooooooo much :-*.

The problem being with things like this, any fixes suggested with the tools suggested are unique to that users system.
Also essexboy is already helping and is a qualified malware removal specialist, a teacher and moderator at the geekstogo Uni forum.
I have no idea of your experience levels, so I have no wish to insult you. But we have had lots of hassle from some individuals that though they were malware experts and could fix anything, whose abilities were sadly lacking. So we do have reservations when new people to the forums start trying to help.
-
Thank you - could I have a copy of the MBR please as it looks like a new variant and I am sure GMER would like to play with it
You will find the dat file on the desktop it will be the one that I have highlighted, could you rename it to mbr.txt please and attach to your next post
How is the computer behaving now ?
-
Hi Essexboy thanks so much again :-* the computer is running great no more malicious url blocked popups I continue to do scans with malware, superantispyware and of course with AV and everything is coming up clean. I have attached what you asked for. Once again thanks a billion ;D.

- Click the Quick Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
- When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.

Subject to no further problems :)
I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems

A good workman always cleans up after himself so..The following will implement some cleanup procedures as well as reset System Restore points:
Run OTL- Under the Custom Scans/Fixes box at the bottom, paste in the following
:Commands
[resethosts]
[purity]
[emptytemp]
[EMPTYFLASH]
[CLEARALLRESTOREPOINTS]
[Reboot]
- Then click the Run Fix button at the top
- Let the program run unhindered, reboot the PC when it is done
Run OTL and hit the cleanup button. It will remove all the programmes we have used plus itself. We will now confirm that your hidden files are set to that, as some of the tools I use will change that- Click Start.
- Open My Computer.
- Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
- Select the View Tab.
- Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Do not show hidden files and folders.
- Click Yes to confirm.
- Click OK.
(http://users.telenet.be/bluepatchy/miekiemoes/images/javaicon.gif) Your Java is out of date.
Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system.
Please follow these steps to remove older version of Java components and upgrade the application.
Upgrading Java:- Go to this site (http://java.com/en/) and click Do I have Java
- It will check your current version and then offer to update to the latest version
Now that you are clean, to help protect your computer in the future I recommend that you get the following free programmes:
(http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/7729/mbamicontw5.gif) Malwarebytes (http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam-download.php).
Update and run weekly to keep your system clean
Download and install FileHippo update checker (http://www.filehippo.com/updatechecker/) and run it monthly it will show you which programmes on your system need updating and give a download link
It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system and to keep them updated. To keep your operating system up to date visit - Microsoft Windows Update (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com)
To learn more about how to protect yourself while on the internet read our little guide How did I get infected in the first place ? (http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/topic/225044-preventing-malware-and-safe-computing/)Keep safe
-
I only had one file open...the OTL.txt file....

MAYBE AM DOING A STEP WRONG :-[.
-
You also appear to have a problem with your keyboard as the CAPS LOCK key is STUCK ;D
For now don't worry that OTL is still there, it isn't a major problem it being there as it isn't running. When essexboy is back on-line later this evening (10:50am in the UK now), he will get on to it.
Just a hint when opening the Tools, Folder Options to view the settings, unless you actually make any changes, I always click Cancel to close the window.
-
Just delete OTL from the desktop ;D
-
OKAY THANKS GUYS ESSEXBOY AND DAVID R I JUST WAS GOING BY THE INSTRUCTIONS THST I READ AS TO HOW TO DELETE OTL THATS WHY I SENT ESSEXBOY ANOTHER MESSEGE BUT OKAY I WILL JUST DELETE IT.
DAVID R THERES NOTHING WRONG WITH MY KEYBOARD I JUST PREFER TO KEEP MY CAPS LOCK ON ;D I KNOW WEIRD UHHHH.
-
It is considered shouting when using all caps on-line, and many find it harder to actully read rather than to emphasise your text.
-
Ok I know that I didnt mean anything by it but I understand your point.
-
No problem.
-
hey Essexboy..I did what you said and posted the OTL file on here...I think my browser is hi-jacked...I keep getting redirected when doing google searches...
-
Luvj19 sorry it was lost among the othe posts
Run OTL
- Under the Custom Scans/Fixes box at the bottom, paste in the following

If all is well tomorrow let me know and I will remove my tools
-

-
I believe all is fine now.
-
Subject to no further problems :)
I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems
Now the best part of the day ----- Your log now appears clean
We will now confirm that your hidden files are set to that, as some of the tools I use will change that
- Click Start.
