If you want to sell your system clean, than why not just give a format?

Perhaps avast! has too much professional integrity for leaving your ex-pc !!!

thanks for you replies, however, the person who is taking over my pc is keeping many of my files,eg.music and historical points from my country..He though has his own prefered virus protector which he was to use,so I have to remove avast as there will most proberly be a clash between them.. thats all,and nothing agaiinst  my avast .........thanks

If you have personal data in this computer, it will be not even better shread or wipe the HDD. There are a lot of programs to do this. I reccommend Eraser (http://www.tolvanen.com/eraser/) that can make a nuke boot disk to erase all surface of the HDD with security  ;)

Give the uninstall util from Avast's website a try. That should work.

Or you could leave Avast on it and working so the other person can see how wonderfull it is :D

Or put the things you/he want to keep on cdr, format the drive and do clean install of Windows, security patches/updates and such.
