Title: Avast! Free deletes my file
Post by: joshuan12 on August 30, 2011, 05:30:04 AM
I downloaded a file which is perfectly safe, I know because I temporarily turned off the shields, downloaded it, and scanned it, and it was fine, but when I reactivate it, it deletes the file. I tried putting the folder into the Exclusions list, but that didn't seem to work. How can I get it to stop deleting the file?

Not a wise decision to turn off avast for you to download files  ??? this is where avast is protecting you.

What file were you trying to run and which shield is detecting it ? where in avast did you place the exclusion ?

Submit the file to www.virustotal.com
avast does not delete files automatically. It sends them to Chest.
