Hi, i tried to post a bug today but something with a smtp configuration didnt match ??? so, now i will ask you here:
my Avast! 4 Home Antivirus told me that a new update was on the net, so i said "Download now" and it started very good. But suddenly it stopped, a file would´nt download and i pressed quit (just to try again) and it told me that if i exitted this update it might cause a failure in avast. so, now i get this message everytime the program tries to update: An error occurred while attemping to update, some avast server is down or something.. can u help me, because i cant uninstall Avast!, no uninstaller included... :'('
hope to get an answer soon 8) just like allways, no late answer or anything right ;D
C ya around!

Zkaterboy, can you check if this is not firewall related?
Can you see your settings and check them if they're ok?
Can you manually update avast?
-
The update server has been down.
Could it be you started downloading while it went down?
Have you tried a repair of Avast?
-
I'm having the same problems right now...
What's up? :( ???
-
i have now tried what you asked: to manually update Avast! without an firewall turned on. same error, now, how can i repair Avast!? i would really like to know :)

start > control panel > add/remove programs > avast > change/repair

Some files I could send and Alwil gently answered me. Thanks Karel.
Some files I could not... It's not the size limit... It's not a deterministic behavior. :(
How can I be sure about this? Can I test something?
