Title: Does Avast Free Edition Scan Its Updates

I am considering trying out AVAST Free Edition and would like to know if someone can confirm that AVAST Free Edition download engine scans all downloads including its signature files and also program updates and features ? The reason that I am asking is because my connection is not secure however I do believe that the server that host these updates on the AVAST server are secure.

Any feedback would be appreciated

Don't worry Victor, everything important gets scanned, when all shields are enabled.

The avast updates (signatures/program) downloads are validated/certified as part of the update process.
