Title: Avast! Firewall Problem
Post by: oklajohn on September 13, 2011, 05:22:59 PM
Avast! Firewall is not being recognized (Error indicated in Action Center of Windows 7) by my pc sometimes on boot-up.  I am running Windows 7 SP1 x64.  When this happens, if I stop the firewall on Avast controls and restart it, then it is recognized and no error message from Action Center is prompted. Is there a legitimate reason for this?  I have Windows firewall turned off btw.  Appreciate any insight into this - thanks.

I have the same set up as you and although I have never had a warning from windows, the Avast firewall is not detected in the windows security center screen. It shows it red and does not list it.

Thanks for reply.  Strange, my Action Center recognizes Avast! Firewall, but just doesn't always load it at start-up for some reason.  Normally, Avast! Firewall shows as "on" and Windows Firewall shows as "off", under maintenance,  with no notification of problem.
