Title: Protecting the pre-OS environment with UEFI
Post by: Nesivos on September 23, 2011, 12:50:16 AM
UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) will be the next big thing in computer security.

You can read all about it here.  Its a bit long but if you care about your computer's security I highly recommend reading the article.

There's a big uproar about this from Linux users. The way it's presented means that you won't be able to have a dual boot Linux OS installed on a Win 8 machine. It might not even be possible to "downgrade" to Win 7. They now say there will be an option to turn the secure boot off though.
