Title: Rising products now free
Post by: gdiloren on September 25, 2011, 04:19:58 PM: I'm fine with my actual configuration but some say the Rising Firewall is worth trying (no HIPS). It is now free version (same as paid version) on their global world site. ;D Only problem for me:it's chinese, fear of spywares etc... :P

No, Actually my computer runs fine but out of curiosity I was wondering if the rising FW (without HIPS for those who wants no HIPS) which has an excellent rating on Wilder's forum runs fine with Avast. Also I was worried about software coming out of China which has a politic of no-tollerance against people going on in Internet and freedom as well as possibility of being spyied upon as a foreigner ;)

It is governmental policy that makes it that way, if the software developer is within China, they have to play along with this, whether they like it or not. I still wont think twice about trying it, just saying, its not the developers fault. ;)

Post by: gdiloren on September 28, 2011, 06:21:27 PM: Anyhow, if ever, I'd rather give a try to the Rising Free FW which has good ratings. The AV is also good but for Chinese viruses, it seems to be weak for Western viruses and malware, at least that's what I read in Wilder's forum. :P
