Title: Avast! EasyPass password manager is now available
Post by: Gargamel360 on October 08, 2011, 05:00:20 AM
Didn't see any official announcement here on the forum yet, so just thought I would post it for a heads-up, in case anyone is interested.

I'd like to know if this will be integrated into avast! IS or
if it will always be a separate program ???

Off Topic: It will be good if on site we have an automatic counter of users... Something like Mozilla did with Firefox downloads (http://www.flickr.com/photos/ryansnyder/5554582678/). Some parts of the site say 175 million users, other parts say 160 million users...

Yeah right, Avast did it again, £9.99 and $9.99. Which one is it and where can I download a trial?

My guess of you follow the above link you are at the US$ page.,If you follow that through using the Add t cart, it is still in $US if you were to elect to use the PayPal method of payment you may well be charged in $ not £.

I'm starting to think Avast! gives "scoops" to C-net as part of whatever partnership the two have (thats where I found out about it, Cnet), thats why things get announced over there before here.

They might loose their (precious..??) community rather fast, if this should be true.

The only information I could find is here: http://public.avast.com/mkt/20111006_EasyPass.pdf

Does anybody know if there is a trial version of the tool?

Although I had translated the special avast interface, I can't answer for sure about the trial period.
The most GUI entries referred to license apply and not about the trial period... ::)

Just bought it. This evening I will try to migrate from Kaspersky Password Manager to avast one, and I will inform how it works.

First impressions: it's really based on Roboform and it has secure online sync option to avast server for password saving not only in PC.

It's what I see in About page:

No  ;D I paid for it  ;D

At the moment I'm migrating from KPM to avast! EasyPass. It's not easy, databases are not compatible with each other, so I'll have to visit site by site all my sites and re-enter the passwords for avast to remember it. One thing I hope for - maybe it will be more compatible with FF updates. KPM is real pain in the ass in term of updates, it takes two weeks or more after each new build of Firefox... 5 to 6 > KPM is useless, 6 to 7 > KPM even crashes FF, 7 to 8 > will be the same story for sure...

In conclusion - avast! Easy Pass seems to work as it should, although I need some time to get use to new interface as I've used KPM for two years until now I think.

And it feels very strange to me there is no official news about it from avast!... I hope I haven't bought rogue software, LOL  ;D ;D

Nice its begin now we might see soon this, Android and Mac i guess. Glad you like it YLAP. The interface isnt a big problem you will get used to it. ;D At least there no bugs that what avast! will like to hear from it.

They haven't even officially announced it here on the forum yet, although I guess there is a chance they saw I posted about it so they did not see any need to.

But yeah, if it does not get its own section (probably should, its a stand-alone), it should at least get added to the titles of one of the existing support threads.

OK. Status update. All accounts manually "imported", the last one Kaspersky stuff is removed from PC. I kinda like avast! EasyPass already, as after some tweaking it integrates to FF in the way I want  ;D

And yes, it is really based on RoboForm and it has fair price for one year. KPM took from me 3 times more then Microsoft released brand new IE9 and KPM v.4 was totally useless. They said "It's time to buy brand new, v.5 :D And your v.4 license is not valid for v.5. Damn it :D And I'm not talking again about FF version updates marathon, each time killing KPM and forcing to wait at least two weeks for fix from Kaspersky :) So I'd rather pay each year less for subscription, but I will have always up to date program for passwords, and good feeling in stomach because I can support avast this way :D

So far so good, works as it should :)

Edit:
LOL, maybe I'll get some kind of prize if I am a first buyer of EasyPass?  ;D ;D ;D

I'm interested in buying this, but now use RoboForm. Can I import all my password information from RoboForm so I don't have to start from scratch for my hundreds of passwords?

Hi all,

firstly I would apologize for my late reply to this thread, I had to somehow miss it ;-(
To your questions:
1. Yes, avast! EasyPass is an official avast product, no rogue ;-)
2. It is based on Roboform Everywhere
3. Trial version is not available, BUT we provide the standard 30-day moneyback gurantee without questions
4. Yes we plan a separate section for this product on the forum
5. Import options are attached
6. Import from Roboform should be easy, export to HTML and then import in EasyPass

I'm interested in buying EasyPass, but when I go to http://www.avast.com/en-us/lp-easypass-password-manager the "add to cart" button is grayed out.

Help?

This product start up is somewhat, what we can call "bumpy" ;D I hope things will get better and I am not the first one and the last one who was able to buy it while it was not even announced in website. Moreover, I can't find it in avast website yet, am I wrong?  ???

I see you can buy a licence per user. So if I buy one licence I can install it on both my Windows machines, right ???
