Post by: fantasy on November 14, 2004, 04:52:32 AM
Downloading Packages
connection terminated, retrying...
0 out of 0 bytes complete

The above will just hang there when i click update iAVS or program. >:(

I have formated my computer a few times, installed the older version 4.1 and the new version 4.5 and still have the problem. :'(

I have disabled my networking firewall. Mine is Win XP.
However have a Sygate personal firewall on. I have allowed all the avast programs through. I also tried uninstalling my SPF but still the avast doesn't update.

I also have thes 'DCOM Exploit - from TCP packet.....' flashing by avast and it doesnt give me an option to do anything. ???

Hope you can help. I have been trying for 2 days and I getting vexed. Thanks.

I formated again. install the latest version. Now the red coloured notice keep flashing saying that something went wrong when downloading updates. Auto update.

And the DCOM appears more frequent now.

I formated again.
Did you install a firewall, av software before going online?
Did you install ALL security patches/updates immidiatly after going online before doing anything else?

If not, your system is likely infected already.
