Upgrade to 4.5 version and everything seems fine.
However trying to check if the all mail accounts are protected, tryed the Mail protection Wizard and the manual option to
setup the accounts protection is no more there. The servers on accounts are also changed to usual server names insted of IP addrss 127.0.0.1 ???
How can I now check if the all accounts are really protected ?

Directly from avasts help file.
If you use avast! 4.5 or newer and your operating system is Windows NT, 2000, XP or 2003, you don't have to do any special settings, even for other email clients. avast! 4.5 features a new method of email protection that is very easy for the user - it works completely automatically.

You can configure Internet Mail provider to insert information note into the clean messages so you will see it's really working. You can also send your self a test EICAR "virus" - http://www.eicar.com/anti_virus_test_file.htm (http://www.eicar.com/anti_virus_test_file.htm)
