Title: Frozen after new 4.1.158 Update
Post by: unko on November 14, 2004, 03:16:31 PM
I just updated to the new 4.1.158 today, and after re-starting, everthing is frozen when I tried to run any application, it will stalled.  Even <Ctrl>+<Alt>+<Del> will not work!  I cannot re-start it unless I turn the power completely off.  Before this program update, it was working fine.  My computer is Windows XP SP2, 2.8 GHz Pentium 4, 512 MB Ram.  Need help!

Have you gotten this fixed yet?

If not, take a look in this forum for a topic "BSOD after update"  Follow the discussion there and it will give you the probable fix. You have to download a new version of an internal file.

If your machine won't come up boot in safe mode (start pressing F8 at boot time) and choose "Safe Mode with Networking". This should allow your internet connection to work.

Yes.  I got it resolved byfirst removing the software (it took many tries since it stalled).  Afterwhich, I reloaded the new version (4.5.158) from scratch.  It worked after that.
