Title: Mail flagged when images are attached?
Post by: wachobc on October 19, 2011, 03:57:00 AM
Hello,

This has me a bit perplexed, so I'm hoping that the community has a solution.

I'm running the home version of Avast.  Version: 6.0.1289 with Defs  111007-0.

This problem occurs with Thunderbird.  Version 3.1.15

Previously, and I'm not certain when it changed, I was able to receive images as attachments to e-mail messages in Thunderbird.

Recently, when image attachments are sent to me, I get a blank message from the sender, with only the following text in the message:

avast!: Message body was removed because it contained a virus.

.

The strange part is that when I check the Avast logs and charts, there are no flagged items for e-mail, or any other protected path on the PC.  It seems odd to me that if Avast detected something bad in the message that it would not show up in any of the logs... or at least the ones I've found.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I hope this was posted to the correct forum.

This may sound strange but...

Could you please update your VPS defs? The update might solve the problem. Please report back.
