Title: avast Firewall being reported as disabled after sleep/wake up of the notebook
Post by: Lisandro on November 08, 2011, 01:32:04 AM
Well, the title says everything.
I have Windows Firewall disabled so I've started to noticed from some days from now the strange message of the Actions Center.
Activating the firewall using avast GUI or Windows Action Center, work. But it's not working as it should, is it?  :(

Hi Tech,

avast! Firewall is designed to work with Windows Firewall right? So if we turn off the WF, dose it compermise our computer's total protection?

OR

Is it a good idea to turn off WF, even if avast! FW is working fine?

Have a wonderful day. Good Karma! :)

Yes (and no, two firewalls at the same time...).

So if we turn off the WF, dose it compermise our computer's total protection?
No if you know what you're doing. AIS does not protect ipv6 but I do not use ipv6.
I do not want redundant protection at firewall level. We really do not need it.

Is it a good idea to turn off WF, even if avast! FW is working fine?
Well... I think get overkilled is not a good idea. And slowness...
