Title: Install Avast to non-internet PC
Post by: davegm on November 08, 2011, 05:04:20 PM
Hi

I am running 'Avast! Free Antivirus' on my internet PC.  I am buying a new PC and want to install Avast! Free Antivirus on that before connecting it to the internet for the first time.  A previous topic suggested this was possible by copying Avast to a USB stick and installing on the new PC.

Do I just go to the Support Downloads page, download setup_av_free.exe, copy onto the new PC and run, or is the process more complicated than that?  I had assumed that during installion the program made use of the internet connection.

To bring the definitions up-to-date do I just download vpsupd.exe, copy on the new PC and run?

Sorry if these questions seem naive, but I want to be sure what I am doing.

Thanks
Dave

Yes just download the latest avast! setup_av_free.exe to your Internet connected system them put the .exe on the Flash drive then copy it to the non-Internet system preferably in the Download folder then install avast!
