Title: Windows firewall and Advanced sharing settings.
Post by: k3nny on November 14, 2011, 03:58:06 PM
Hi, when I turn off network discovery and file and printer sharing on Advanced sharing settings, Windows Firewall turns back on? I tried used msconfig and disabled Windows firewall from there but the sharing settings won't stay?

OS: Windows 7.

Aren't the advanced sharing settings part of the windows firewall? that would be why the firewall turns on is if you are accessing it.
The avast firewall is designed to work with the windows one but you can disable windows firewall if you wish to save a few resources. If you want to properly disable the windows firewall then you should disable it from services and it wont start again.
