Title: A couple of issues
Post by: mikeflht on November 14, 2011, 03:58:30 PM
I have a couple of issues with avast! for Mac.

1. Every time I start my computer avast! opens Mac Mail, a program that I do not use.  I have tried deselecting Mail Support under Preferences to no avail.  Have contacted User Support twice and both times the only suggestion they have is to reinstall avast!, which I have done, but it still starts Mac Mail.

2. Is there any way to have avast! run in the background rather than pestering me several times a day that it is updating? One of the features I liked about Kaspersky is that I never knew it was running unless there was a problem, which I liked.

Thanks,
mikeflht

From the issues you describe I guess you are using the legacy version 3.x.

Assuming you are using intel-based mac with 10.5.x or newer, I would recommend you to switch to current beta, which is already superior in most features.

You can download it here:
