Title: mimar sinan
Post by: Gunnydawn on November 27, 2011, 03:35:05 AM
Can someone tell me if mimar sinan is a virus? I had let a representative from iyogi remote access my computer when I was trying to purchase avast internet security for my computer. I have been running the free trial when I decided to buy the product so I called the phone number to get some help purchasing and installing.

Anyway the woman from iyogi told me I had this mimar sinan on my computer and it was a virus which needed removed before I should get the avast. Then she said it would cost me $169. to do this. I said no and told her I would call back if I needed their help.

So is this mimar sinan is a virus? Should I be worried? Why wasn't avast finding it if it is and is on here? Any suggestions or info on mimar sinan?

The registry key has existed on my XP installation from day 1.

Thank you Donz63, I have been stressing about this. I first started this topic here http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=89152.0 and then decided from replies that maybe I was supposed to talk about the mimar sinan in viruses and worms. If you see my other link you can see how bad I have been stressing. Breathing a bit easier now, thank you. Others from that thread told me I need to run an anti malware program to see wwhat is up. Think I better find one and do that.
