Title: need advice re scan
Post by: bubbles on November 19, 2004, 10:22:22 PM
I received a alert with a siren saying a virus was on my computer.  I clicked delete, then I scanned my computer.  It showed no virus detected. After the scan was finished it showed me a page with 66 lines all saying unable to scan.  There was at tab for action for me to take but I never understood what to do.  They all seemed to have something to do with  java.  Please, can anyone tell me what I should have done with them, I was afraid to delete and now I am wondering what I should have done.

That is normal behaviour. Those files are encrypted or passwrod protected. Avast (and for that matter any other av) can not scan encrypted or pw protected files if it doesn't know the encryption method or pw. From your post I understand that they all are in the java folder. If they are in the java cache folder, just delete them. If they are not in the cache folder, just let them be.
