Title: Error when updating

Hello,
I have been asked by Avast to update both "engine and virus definition" and "Program". For the first I get the error message: "Cannot connect to download 310.avast.com (174.36.251.139:80)". For the "Program" I get the error message: "Cannot connect to download 346.avast.com (85.17.24.207:80)". Does anybody know what should I do?
I have Windows 7 Home and Internet Explorer. Also, I access internet through a proxy.

Did you set your proxy connections properly into avast settings?

I am at a university and they set my proxy connections. Everything has been working fine till now. I do not know what may have happened. Any suggestions?

If you have been set a proxy then you have to manually set that proxy up below the general proxy setting options there is one for manual, see image, click to expand).

You need to set that for connection via your school proxy. Obviously when you aren't at school (e.g. home or elsewhere) and using that proxy, you would have to check the No Proxy option, that just greys out the Specify proxy server options, it doesn't remove them. So at school you just select the Specify proxy server option.
