Title: BSOD - please help
Post by: Bellzemos on December 01, 2011, 09:59:55 PM
Hi! My friend has Avast Free and Sandboxie on Windows XP and he got a BSOD today. This is the minidump file: http://www.woofiles.com/dl-274434-9qB6Mwel-badpoolheader.rar (http://www.woofiles.com/dl-274434-9qB6Mwel-badpoolheader.rar) Could someone please take a look at it and see what is causing it? I don't know if it's Avast related or not. Thank you so much!

I'm sorry, I see that the link that I provided is not valid. I uploaded the dmp file here and renamed it to txt so that I was able to upload it in this post. Please take a look. :)

I found NirSoft's BlueScreenView which showed that aswSnx.SYS driver caused the BSOD. This is an Avast file, right? It also mentions a file called ntoskrnl.exe, so what is this about and how do I prevent BSODs from happening? Please help! Thanx! :)

Hi Bellzemos :)

They can do nothing with a .txt file. Please email some of the latest .mdp files to kurtin ( at ) avast ( dot ) com with a link to this topic. You can blame me for it ;)

The upload process corrupts the file due to the extension change.
Upload the zipped file to the email provider or the ftp server.
