I chased this question around once, one of the first people I asked, a friend who knows way more about computing than me, his answer was; "If you have to ask that question, you most likely wont understand the answer."  He ended up being right. ;D

and you need to be a programmer or virus analyst to understand   ::)

hello
How can some viruses disable antivirus and  prevent  install them?

Not to mention if we told you we would probably have to kill you.

Seriously an AV support forum is hardly likely to tell you that in any form of detail.

Hi, dawoodiran,

As DavidR says, we aren't to discuss Überviruses here, besides all of them are nasty malware,

Überviruses

Nice word for it. ;D

And as the other avast! evangelists say, we can't tell how viruses do this. Besides, it can be done various ways, and in which are probably too complicated for you to understand.

@dawoodiran,
If you would understand the explanation,
you wouldn't need to ask the question.  ;D
Just knowing that this type of malware exists,
is frightening enough.
The nice thing is that there are experts here (Essexboy)
who are able to help you should you run into one of theses Überviruses.
Keep you system and your Antivirus up to date and use your computer
responsibly and if you're lucky, you'll probably never run into one of them.
