I have a laptop (win7 x64)and Avast free (latest version) that I use for my personal stuff, but I have office on it and so I connect to my work's Exchange mail on it.
My personal mail is on Thunderbird (Yahoo account).
Avast has always worked perfectly with my yahoo account on Thunderbird.
To my knowledge avast only scans IMAP and POP3 connections, but when I had Outlook 2003/2007 installed it scanned my exchange mail! Without any configuration whatsoever.
I could see the avast plug-in splash screen every time Outlook 2003/2007 was opened.
So to get to the point, I recently acquired Office 2010, and I don't see a splash and the mail is definitely not being scanned.
Can anyone shed some light on this?
