I was just wondering if Avast! 4 home Edition has the ability to detect the Win32 Blaster worm (with the latest updates). There seems to be a big commotion about this virus. And as I understand, it enters your computer without you even being at a certain website, just on the internet.
I also use Sygate Personal Firewall v5.1 ;D
BTW - thank you for making such an excellent program, it has detected well over 20 virus's from downloading. :) :)

If you use a (proper configurated) Firewall or made all Update Windowsupdate.com offers you, you are safe. Even if your AV-Programm should not be able to find Malware , which is using the RPC Exploit. But Avast is able to find it anyway.:)

It detects it, but make sure your computer is updated as well. Worse variants will come to light as copy-cats make their way.

Just wanted to pop in and give kudos to Avast! Home...
After installing Avast! 4 on a client's machine at my recommendation, w32.Blaster.a was nailed at the "gates"!
Thanks!!

Hi,
"nailing at the gates" would be to have all relevant WIN-patches installed, and not notice a thing about RPC/blaster attacks.. with or without AV-SCanner ;)

If it helps, try to post the virus (or worm) codes to avast support (support@asw.cz) ;)

Whatever. ;)
My point was that Avast! did it's job re: the topic of this thread. ;)
