Title: FoxVox and Avast's Behavior Shield
Post by: ladfang on December 08, 2011, 04:23:45 AM
Hello, I have an issue with one of my Firefox add-ons and Avast, specifically the Behavior Shield.

The add-on I am using is FoxVox 1.7.8, it is a text-to-speech Firefox add-on, here's the URL: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/foxvox/

Whenever I use FoxVox to read out text on a webpage, Avast's Behavior Shield detects wscript.exe as suspicious, I've only found this out recently, after browsing through the Real-time Shields after using FoxVox, and I experimented as well, I used Firefox alongside Avast, and I used FoxVox, it detects wscript.exe as suspicious, and if I use FoxVox to read out text, for example, six times, Avast detects wscript.exe six times as suspicious, and I've run a full system scan and a boot scan, and Avast says my system is clean.

Is this a false positive? Anyway, I have removed FoxVox from my Firefox add-ons until this issue is resolved, thank you for your time.
