Title: Avast! on Mac Mini (Lion OSX), First scan crashed and now my Mac does not turnon

I installed Avast! for Mac Beta, during the first scan and it crashed during the scan (screen became very messy).  I powered off my Mac Mini (mid 2010 model with Lion OSX), and tried turning it back on.  My Mac Mini powers on but does not load OSX! It simply shows a black screen, and my monitor is not showing a signal.  I checked that all cables and wires were attached securely so that is not the issue.  Could it be that running avast! has fried the chipset?

Please help.

Apologies, crash was due to newly installed defective RAM hardware.
