Title: SUSE Enterprise install problem
Post by: sportzfan28 on December 25, 2011, 06:08:40 PM
Hello all, first time caller here :)

I'm totally new to Linux, It was actually pre-installed on a computer I bought so I thought, hey, let's give it a shot!  Pretty interesting platform, a ton to learn, but I'm liking it so far.  The only difficulty I'm having is obviously installing things.  I've started to figure out the terminal prompt and commands but i'm nowhere near fluent in all this.

Anyway, I tried installing avast through the terminal and had the following come up.  Please let me know what I can do, what I should be doing, next, etc.  Any help is greatly appreciated!!

sudo zypper install avast4workstation-1.3.0-1.i586.rpm
root's password:
Retrieving repository 'google-chrome' metadata [|]
File 'repomd.xml' from repository 'google-chrome' is unsigned, continue? [yes/no] (no): y
Retrieving repository 'google-chrome' metadata [done]
Building repository 'google-chrome' cache [done]

Reading installed packages...
Resolving package dependencies...

Problem: nothing provides libexpat.so.0 needed by avast4workstation-1.3.0-1.i586
Solution 1: do not ask to install a solvable providing avast4workstation = 0:1.3.0-1
Solution 2: break avast4workstation by ignoring some of its dependencies
