Title: Malwarebytes and Avast
Post by: TonyMontana101 on January 07, 2012, 01:33:16 AM
I am new here,so I wasn't sure where to post this topic, anyway Would I be fully protected if i had malwarebytes and avast installed. Because the MB is made to catch anything your antivirus misses. so would it be good?

No.  You can't achieve full protection, it is an impossibility, but...
so would it be good?
....yes, it would be better than most people have.

This is assuming you are talking about MBAM Pro.  The free version is great but can't protect you from getting infected in the first place.

If you go with MBAM Pro, you would have to add some exclusions for the antiviruses to run smoothly in realtime.

Just wondering...What exclusions?

I have never found it necessary to make exclusions for MBAM on either my XP or win7 systems, but I have excluded c:\windows\temp\_avast_ in the MBAM Ignore List so it isn't scanning the temporary folder where avast sends/unpacks files it is going to scan.
