Title: upload attachment in post
Post by: veegee on January 10, 2012, 05:02:50 AM
I have searched and cannot find anything on how to upload an attachment in a post.  Couldn't find a tutorial on this anywhere.
I clicked on 'browse' below and selected files and pasted them in the 'attach' bar but then how to get it into the post?
Would appreciate some advice.
Thanks.

lower left corner: additional options > attach (MAX 200kb )

and you always find the HELP menu at the top   http://forum.avast.com/index.php?action=help

Once you have clicked browse then navigate to the file you wish to attach and double click it to attach, if it wont attach maybe you are going over the size limit of 200KB.

Chalk this up to my fetish for "grunge detail" back when I was working as an accountant, but is that 200K limit per file, or total for all files (up to 4)?

Test and find out   ;)   .... report back the result

It is the collective total for the attached files as can be seen when someone tries to attach OTL files whilst the individual file is less than 200KB, collectively they exceed 200KB. Sometimes the otl.txt file is quite large and other files extras.txt and others end up exceeding the 200KB total.

Thanks, David. :)  Can't remember ever having to upload anything myself, but maybe the wording of the upload instructions could be modified a little to clarify this.

No problem, yes the wording could do with clarification and possibly a slight bump in the limit; bearing in mind there are still dial-up users on the forums, though that would mainly be images that effect them as they don't have to download the files.
