Avast not working & the icon has a red circle with a white X. When I tried to fix it I got an error message saying "]AAMV subsystem detected a ARPC error". I'm running windows 64 on an HP computer. Can you help?
-
Hi msladyfrog,
welcome to the Forum! ;)
Do you try to fix it over the GUI (repair) or do you try to make a repair-installation over software > delete/repair?
You can also uninstall the programm with the special uninstall tool of avast. Best in safe mode.
Then try a new installation of the programm after a restart of your PC.

As SKY mentioned have you tried a repair ? go to control panel - programs and features ( remove programs ) - double click avast and scroll down to repair and accept, reboot when done.
By the way SKY i liked your old avatar better ;D ;)
-
I'm using avast for several years and I am also repairing some PC's which had viruses. I encountered about this issue twice. It’s just simple. What I did is just I re install and update my Avast ad It's working fine.

@ markgarate91,
Glad to hear everything is working out fine now. Let us know if we can be of any further assistance.
@ craigb,
I'm sure you liked SKY's old avatar better as did many others. ;D I guess they are trying to give you a hint SKY.

Thank you, craigb,
I think this should be a compliment for me!
I'll see, perhaps I'll take it again. :-*

Hi craigb!
Hi SafeSurf!
~SKY~ mentioned in our german topics, that we (you both and me)talked about her new (and sad) avatar. I told her, that we didn't and that's the truth. ;)
This was our first contact now.
Ererything will be allright and quite well.

The person with the problem is "msladyfrog" and we don't know if the repair solved her problem.

I think you missed the point....
markgarate91 didn't have a problem and we didn't solve it.
markgarate91 was simply offering a suggestion. :)

...and msladyfrog doesn't give us an answer. Unfortunately! ???

You missed the point...re-read my post. We are still waiting for the OP (msladyfrog) to return and post. At this point I don't know if she/he will. But thank you for your comments while the rest of us here were making light of things. ;D
