I like a lot of people on this board recently got the notice saying that Avast had expired, that my computer was unprotected and wouldnt I be interested in Avast Internet Security.
And like a lot of people I went to the Avast web site, tried to download the free version by clicking on the corresponding button and nothing happened.
So I uninstalled, reinstalled, rebooted, and my computer crashed. (said something about a BAD_POOL_HEADER or something)
Windows couldn't start, went directly to system restore. Rebooted, Avast wasn't there. Downloaded Avast Free from cnet's website, there was a set-up error and the installation was cancelled. Shortly thereafter, system crashed again.
Same scenario, same system restore, etc. Tried to install again, got the same set-up error.
Any suggestions?
