This is beautiful.

Not impressed at all.

Border is too big a waste of real estate.

Font, what happened to avatars, attached images not all being displayed.

WOW! You have fixed all the problems with the UI in the Russian section. I can read messages without changing the coding pages in my browser. Thank you!

The text using IE is just right
Using Firefox it is a little small.
Is it possible to make it bigger?

So far, not good. No avatars or icons are displaying.

I like it. Clean, fresh, nice colours IMHO. And I have no problems to see avatars and icons, they showing up just fine here.

Post by: George Yves on February 07, 2012, 07:15:24 PM
I can see here only the avatar of Dch48. And I see only ****** instead of usual yellow stars.

I can't even see my own avatar in either IE9 or Chrome and all the emote icons are just placeholders as well as the stars and other things under people's names. The u in uberevangelist is also a ?.

Well my avatar appears to have taken a holiday as it isn't displayed (certainly not for me). So trying to upload it again just results in an error.

There needs to be more contrast between posts the colours are too close making it look like one long post, this is something the we mentioned on the last forum theme update. Seems like no one has a memory.

Attached images are also suffering some aren't showing and when you click on the link it results in a 404 error. My own attempt to attach an image failed,  Cannot access attachments upload path.

The font it terrible and come of the text is too small, I don't have a problem with that, but I know some will.

Оh! Your avatar disappeared too! And I confirm the issues with emoticons and Ü.

I have SO MANY comments (against), that I'd rather wait a little bit to see some (MANY) improvements. In my particular case, this is (currently) terrible, but I guess each of us are seeing different things (apparently, even depending on the web browser).
Title: Re: New Interface
Post by: George Yves on February 07, 2012, 07:40:14 PM
I think there are many comments against because the new UI is just new.

And our yellow rank stars and letter Ü in Über- are back again. What about our avatars?

Well. After waiting more than 3 hours this mornig, I am back to resolution 800 x 600. I agree with DavidR. Way too big, and no Avatars or any kind of icons. Just the dreaded RED X. Also it seems I'm back using dial-up, I am dragging thru this forum like a turtle. To make matters worst I am missing a topic in the Spanish section.

Hey! Avast team what happen with this topic:

http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=92148.0

Just hope you are ironing things out. Hope for the best.

I though you said this has been fixed, then why am I seeing the weirdness in the forum listings and in topics, notably in yours which didn't happen before ???

I would have posted an image, but that's stuffed up right now also.

I feel for you, even though I have a massive TFT 1920x1200 but I don't open it to full screen as I can user the rest of the screen for other open applications/windows.

Dial-up is a real drag and I still remember the pain even though it was 15 months ago that I got broadband.

To make matters worst I am missing a topic in the Spanish section.

Hey! Avast team what happen with this topic:

That topic is there I just visited it, would have posted a very small screenshot, but attachments are stuffed too.

Hey ! Avatars are back and yes my topic is back too. Getting better.

Thanks you David for checking things out.

EDIT: It seems that the more forums I visit they starting to look alike. Look at Wilders, SAS, etc.

The images aren't necessary. It was just the moment of the adjusting works in the forum. Now I can see the stars, the buttons and our avatars. I can't only see our countries' flags.

I have found the answer.
There is an add on called NoSquint.
Works perfectly.

You can change the text size in IE but not in Firefox unless you have an add in.
NoSquint is brilliant.

You can change the font and font size in firefox (and override the sites defaults), Firefox, Options, Content, Font & Colours, Advanced. You can change it on the fly using the Ctrl and + key together or Ctrl and - together to reduce the size.

But as you appear to have found your solution, then this is information only.

Look in the beta topic.

As mentioned this is about the new forum interface:
For the beta there is already a topic with some images (http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=92568.0 (http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=92568.0)), but that certainly shouldn't be a reason whether or not to download the beta.

The small text is only a feature of Windows 7.
With Xp the print is normal.

Probably because you are using IE
The problem(now fixed) only arises when you are using Firefox.
There is an Add-on called "NoSquint" with which you can play around with the text, etc

Quite a change. Very clean looking interface

Noticed my signature was a bit too many lines, so just cut it down to 3 lines. No need displaying a book anyways. :)

It is probably bug of firefox, it is ignoring Windows font size setting. You are using large fonts on Windows 7 aren't you?

chocholo, I'm Mobile right now. There is an interesting feature: opening a thread you go to the latest non-read post (like Wilders). Is it possible to pass this feature to the full version of the forum?

If I'm not mistaken, that has always been there in the normal view.

Just click on the orange icon containing the word new next to the thread title.
