Title: GPS issue
Post by: TLoz on February 12, 2012, 05:25:49 PM
I installed avast mobile security on my phone. I went to the theft menu and tried enabling the GPS, it said that google has blocked the feature on 2.3 versions and I need to install the anti theft root. I rooted my phone now and I tried enabling it but still didnt work. Any solutions?
I know you can text: '*PIN* Locate' to the handset thats stolen but the map isn't really accurate (shows a map and says its somewhere within ~500 meters). So if I enable the GPS, will it locate the phone even more accurately?
I have Xperia Play on 2.3.4.

you need to uninstall anti-theft after rooting and reinstall it + check the "install rooted" checkbox in the setup.

thanks it works now. So when the phone gets stolen, can I activate the GPS remotely so it will give a more accurate point on the map? Or will it be the same as textin the locate command to your stolen phone?
