Title: Password protected files not scanned.
Post by: Bigalx58 on December 01, 2004, 08:42:06 PM
Hello...When I scan my PC with Avast 4.5, at the end of the scan, I get a message screen that says that some archives could not be scanned because they are password protected.  Here is an example of what it says:
'C:\WINDOWS\Application data\SpyBot-Search and Destroy\Recovery\Alexa Related1.zip\sb Recovery.ini  Unable to scan. Archive is password protected.'
All of these files are related to SpyBot from what I can
see.  Should I be concerned? If so, what should I do?
Please advise.  Thanks. ???

Perfectly normal, nothing to worry about.

Avast! cannot scan archives that are password protected because well, it doesn't know the password. :D  It's normal, I usually have about 600 files that can't be scanned.
